Narborough Health Centre in Thornton Drive, Narborough will be closing its doors for the last time at the end of March this year.
The practice will be centralising all of its services into Narborough Branch Surgery located on Narborough Road, Leicester. The move means that commissioning responsibilities will transfer from East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group (ELR CCG) to Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group.
The decision was made by the Primary Care Commissioning Committee after the practice made a request to move to the city. The practice commissioned Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU) to undertake a 90-day consultation with patients as part of the process. Both CCGs support the move as patients will benefit from improved access.
Patients at the practice will be automatically transferred to the Narborough Road site unless they choose to register with another practice. They have been written to advising of the change. ELR CCG has also written to stakeholders about the move.
