People’s views are being sought on a new strategy that aims to improve the lives of carers in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR).
The strategy, which is still in draft form, seeks to improve services and support for carers through the work that is carried out by NHS, social care and voluntary sector organisations for unpaid carers who are caring for someone that lives in LLR.
East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group (ELR CCG) has been involved in developing the three-year strategy alongside Leicester City CCG, West Leicestershire CCG, Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council.
The draft strategy outlines eight key priorities to support carers in their caring role and to maintain their own health and wellbeing. It covers all carers: adults, parent carers, young carers and life-long carers.
The consultation is being led by Leicestershire County Council, and runs from 28 February to 22 April.
