The East Midlands Academic Health Science Network brings together patients, carers and communities with health and social care providers, industry and researchers to make a real and lasting difference to health and social care in the East Midlands. This is commonly referred to as Patient and Public Involvement (PPI). This is an opportunity to shape future health and social care in the region. There are many terms for public/patient involvement, and it can mean you spending varying amounts of time assisting on projects and programmes, or just giving us some feedback; it really depends on what you want to do.
Anyone with an interest in the work of the Network is invited to get involved with their activities -they would like to learn from your experiences of success and failure, and to hear your views on what is needed in the future. Any level of knowledge, understanding or experience is welcomed, any profession, or none. You could be a service user, patient, carer or just want to find out more.
