Public and Patient Involvement – Strategy
ELR CCG is passionate about involving local people in our work. We work to ensure our commissioning priorities are influenced by our patients, stakeholders and partners. We are also committed to meeting our legal duties regarding public and patient involvement.
You can find out more about our approach to public and patient involvement in our Listening and Engagement Strategy. This builds on the approach and methods established by our first Involving and Informing Strategy. Our work currently reflects the approach and focus outlined in both documents.
We are currently in the process of refreshing our strategy for involving the public and communities. This will be published in 2019/2020. If you would like to find out more or get involved in our planning, please contact our communications team on 0116 295 3405 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Involving our diverse communities
To ensure we involve our diverse communities, we undertake work as part of every project to understand the communities who may be impacted or whose views we need to understand and we tailor our plans for involvement to meet those needs. This could include for example, producing an easy read version of our materials or visiting community groups and community venues to hear views directly. We also work with the voluntary sector who often support us by sharing details of our engagement work with those from groups less likely to engage with the CCG.
You can find out more about our work to support and promote equality and diversity here.
You can also find out more about how we reach out to our diverse communities and groups using our Listening Booth here.
How we report on public and patient involvement
Every year ELR CCG produces an Annual Report. This report contains a section on how we involved local people and communities in our work and decision making in the previous financial year. You can view our annual reports here.
Throughout the year, our Governing Body receives quarterly reports on public and patient involvement and our work to capture and act on patient experience. Members of the public are welcome to attend our Governing Body meetings which are held in public, and to ask questions about items on the agenda. You can find out more about our Governing Body here.
