Patient Participation Groups
Every GP practice in our area has a Patient Participation Group. You can find out more here.
East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG works with our practices to support their relationships with their Patient Participation Groups (PPG). We also support the PPGs by running a network to help them work with each other and to involve them in the work of our organisation.
PPGs are groups of people who are patients of the surgery and want to help it work as well as it can for patients, doctors and staff. The NHS requires every practice to have a PPG.
Our CCG organises regular meetings which allow the representatives of all the PPGs in East Leicestershire and Rutland to meet up, network and discuss ideas and share best practice. These meetings also allow the CCG to update patients on healthcare services in the area and provide an opportunity for patients to give us their views on future services and what works well for patients within their practice and local area.
Each PPG is invited to provide at least one representative to be a member of the network and attend these meetings.
The network meets at least twice during the year, sometimes with all 31 PPGs and sometimes in smaller locality groupings.
The CCG also holds a mailing contact list of PPG members so that information which is of interest can be communicated with them.
If you are interested in joining your own GP practice’s PPG, please contact them directly. Many practices also have information on their websites.
