ELR CCG commissions a full range of health services for patients in East Leicestershire and Rutland. We work hard to ensure services are delivered to the standards that we expect for our patients by working very closely with our provider organisations.
General Practitioners (GPs) look after the health of people in their local community and deal with a whole range of health problems. They also provide health education, offer advice on smoking and diet, run clinics, give vaccinations and carry out simple surgical operations.
There are a number of local services available during the day and in the evening if you need care urgently but it’s not life threatening. You can find out more here.
These services should only be used in an emergency, critical or life- threatening situation.
NHS 111 can help if you have an urgent medical problem and you’re not sure what to do.
Your local pharmacy, or chemist, isn’t just the place where you pick up your prescribed medicines. Pharmacists are experts in medicines who can help you with minor health concerns.
